CRITERIA
Diploma (2nd Shift Polytechnic)
The minimum qualification for admission to first year of the Diploma program is a pass in the 10th conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent. Candidates who wish to seek admission in any of the Diploma programs will have to appear for Common Entrance Test for admissions into Polytechnics (POLYCET) conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada.

About Department
Civil Engineering, one of the oldest engineering disciplines involves planning, designing and executing of structural works. The profession deals with a variety of engineering tasks inclusive of designing, supervision and construction activities of public works like roads, bridges, tunnels, buildings, airports, dams, water works, sewage systems, ports etc. and offers a multitude of challenging. The civil engineering arena is always in great demand until the human race exists on this planet. SVEC’s Civil Engineering department was established in the year 2009 with an initial intake of 60, followed by an increased intake of 120 in the year 2011.
The major specializations within civil engineering are structural, geo-technical engineering, hydraulics & water resources, environmental, construction and transportation. Enhancing the scope for learning for students, the department frequently organizes Seminars, Guest Lectures, Expert Lectures, Technical Symposiums and paper contests.
