Genesis:
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1996 with an intake of 60 in B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). The intake was increased to 120 in the year 2000 and subsequently to 180 and 240 in the year 2013 & 2014 respectively, besides admission under lateral entry scheme. The B.Tech. Program was Re-accredited (fourth cycle of Accreditation) by NBA for three years (01.07.2020 to 30.06.2023).
The Department is also offering PG program with specialization in VLSI started in the year 2009 with an intake of 18. The program was also accreditated by NBA.
JNTUA, Anantapur has recognized the Department of ECE as Research Centre for Ph.D. Program from the academic year 2013-14. Full-time Ph.D. scholars are pursuing under this centre.

VISION
To be a centre of excellence in Electronics and Communication Engineering through teaching and research producing high quality engineering professionals with values and ethics to meet local and global demands.
MISSION
- The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is established with the cause of creating competent professionals to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
- Imparting knowledge through contemporary curriculum and striving for development of students with diverse background.
- Inspiring students and faculty members for innovative research through constant interaction with research organizations and industry to meet societal needs.
- Developing skills for enhancing employability of students through comprehensive training process.
- Imbibing ethics and values in students for effective engineering practice.
PHILOSOPHY
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering believes in that, the students of the program have to make quantitative predictions and effects of the products and solutions they deliver. It is understood here as a well thought-out mix of social cause with scientific and technological interventions. Hence it is our humble endeavor to train students holistically in Electronics and Communication technologies and applications.
